ReplyDeleteMy favorite summer time activity is when we take the kids out for a walk at the park. There is so much to do there, fishing, hunting for shells, feeding the ducks, playing on one of the five playgrounds, playing in the sand and building castles, or hanging out with all the animals at the tiny zoo.
ReplyDeleteMy family's favorite summertime activity would have to be going to the beach. For the LONGEST time we couldn't go because our two autistic boys had a very strong tactile defense to sand. I know it may sound strange to some but they couldn't handle the feel of sand on their hands or feet. With the help of ALOT of occupational therapy...they can now enjoy playing in the sand without becoming too overstimulated. :)
ReplyDeleteGoing to the beach, we build sandcastles, play frisbee and enjoy the fresh air. Having fun with nature is the best.
ReplyDeleteSo many things we love to do as a fmaily in the Summer - right now we are gettign more and more into garening and my 4 yer old is "impatiently" watching our veggies grow. We love to hit the beach & also enjoy the local splashpads & small water parks. Usually there are lots of fun fests & free events on in neighoring towns too that we find out about in Family Time that we check out & enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite summertime activity is the family barbeque. Its spent with generations of our favorite people(family & friends, great food...treasured recipes, great music, water activities, games, but most importantly the love & laughter that creates memories of a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteWe love swimming in our pool and planting flowers. We recently started a vegetable garden, too :)
ReplyDeleteWe love to visit the zoo and enjoy their small splash pad. Swimming in the pool is also a family favorite!!
ReplyDeleteOne of our family's favorite summertime activities is to pack up our two kids and our yorkie-maltese dog and walk up to the Annual 4th of July Parade in downtown Mason, Michigan! Its great to see the local firetrucks, tractors, scouts, military men & women and local businesses who support the area. The highlight for my 8 year old son is the challenge of collecting as much candy as he can! There is a lot of pride in our community; and its fun to see the parents and kids during summer-break!
ReplyDeleteWe love going to the campground in the summer. They always have tons of stuff for the kids to do plus we love swimming on the big lake.
