Win Brave the Video Game for your Wii!

We have all had moments where we had to be brave and stand up against something we were afraid of.  Whether it be receiving a shot at the doctor's office, flying in an airplane or kicking a spider out of the house, we have all survived one of our biggest fears at one point in our lives.
Family Time Magazine wants to know how your children have been brave and how they have overcome a fear of their own.  Don't be afraid to get involved and detailed with this!  It's not about winning a video game and Summerfest tickets, it's about being proud of your children for being brave while facing their fears.
The winner will be chosen at the end of the day on Thursday, have fun with this and once again...be proud of your strong, brave children!

Our little guy was afraid of slides after being pushed down a tall spiral slide head first by one of his friends. It took him a while to get on any slide, but he overcame it :)

  2. I would have to say my daughter is the bravest person. Her dream is to he a singer, she is going into 8th grade this fall. their school was holding a singing competition and she wanted to do it. you know how mean kids could be, they ridiculed her saying you can't sing, you suck, and some other words I can't say. You could tell these comments were bothering her, but she still entered the competion. she made through try outs and was in the show. Kids told her the teacher just felt bad for her, that's why she got in. She would come home crying and I told her she didn't have to do it. But she told me then they win. she said she wants to he a singer and there will always be haters. So she got up on stage in front of all her peers, the ones that ridiculed her and sang her little heart out. She still needed practice but she sounded good and I was proud that she went up there in front of that whole school and sang This all happened in 6th grade. So then 7th grade came and it started all over again, she wanted to be in the show, everyone told her that last year she sucked, so don't even try it again. Well she did it again, she got on front of everyone once again and sang this song called The Show. If you have ever heard the song, the words were so fitting for her. Right before she got on stage she told me that she was about to throw up, what if they boo her, what if they make fun of her. I told her, you are the bravest person I know, I would never get up in front of my peers and sing. But your not me, you are brave and strong. Just go out there and do your best and that's what she did. She sang her little heart out and she sounded great. I started crying because I was so proud of her courage and it shut up a few of her classmates. I think everyone was shocked. Singing on a stage in front of people that have ridiculed you for weeks especially your peers in school, is a pretty brave thing. I am a very proud mama. she gets knocked down, but gets up again to peruse her dream.

    2. Thank you so much and thank you for having us think of something that our children did that was brave. It really brought me back to that day and reminded me of how proud I am of her. My children are so excited that I won.
      Thanks again!

  3. I have four children, two of whom have some disabilities. My 16yo son has OCD/Anxiety Disorder and has been learning to drive for the last 18 months. It has taken him an incredible amount of time to overcome his fear of being behind the wheel. One of his biggest obstacles is the threat that he might hurt someone on the road because of the way he drives. This is a good thing to worry about, but it has crippled his efforts to become comfortable behind the wheel. This past week, after a 3 month hiatus from practicing, he decided it was time to overcome his fears and we started driving again. He is doing beautifully! We actually drove for 35 minutes yesterday and got the car up to 55mph without freaking out. He held control of the car and came home with a big smile on his face. Victory!

  4. My son honestly has no fears probably because he is young and lacking fears due to experiences. This scares me somtimes though! The other day he was playing in the back yard and decided it would be a good idea to drag his ride on car to the top of his fort. Then he was about to go down the slide while riding his car! Thank god I was there to stop him but geez no fears and a little to brave for me
